Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Motra. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Motra’s website at motra.in, WhatsApp services, and all related automobile service offerings (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using Motra in any way — including requesting a service, applying as a vendor, or simply browsing our website — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Motra’s services.
Platform Description
Motra is an on-demand automobile services marketplace that connects vehicle owners (“Customers”) with independent local service professionals (“Vendors”) in Coimbatore and expanding areas of Tamil Nadu.
Motra acts as an intermediary platform only. We facilitate the connection between customers and vendors but are not a party to the service contract between them. Motra does not:
- Employ the service professionals on its platform
- Directly provide automobile repair, maintenance, or inspection services
- Guarantee the availability of any specific vendor at any time
- Take responsibility for the outcome of third-party services rendered
The actual automobile service is performed by independent vendors who are verified by Motra but operate independently.
Eligibility
To use Motra’s services you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
- Provide accurate and truthful contact and location information
- Own, operate, or have authorised access to the vehicle requiring service
- Be located within Motra’s current service areas at the time of request
Motra reserves the right to refuse service to any individual for any lawful reason, including past violations of these Terms.
Services & Booking
Service Request Process: Service requests are initiated via WhatsApp, phone call, or the enquiry form on motra.in. A booking is confirmed only when Motra explicitly confirms vendor availability and estimated arrival time.
- Motra will attempt to confirm a vendor within 5–10 minutes of your request
- If no vendor is available, we will inform you promptly
- Confirmed bookings may be affected by weather, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances
Cancellations: Customers may cancel before the vendor arrives. If the vendor has already arrived and incurred travel costs, a nominal convenience fee may apply at the vendor’s discretion.
Service Scope: Each service is scoped to the specific request made. Vendors are not obligated to perform services beyond what was originally requested. Additional services may incur separate charges agreed upon between the customer and vendor.
Payments & Pricing
All payments are made directly between the customer and the vendor. Motra does not currently process payments on behalf of customers or vendors.
- Pricing is discussed and agreed upon before the service begins
- Accepted payment methods include cash and UPI (at vendor’s discretion)
- Motra provides indicative price ranges for reference but final pricing is set by the vendor and agreed upon by the customer
- Any disputes regarding payment must be resolved directly with the vendor
Price transparency commitment: Motra requires all vendors to agree on pricing with customers before starting work. If a vendor charges more than the pre-agreed amount, report this to Motra immediately.
Motra earns a commission from vendors for completed jobs. This is factored into the service price and does not constitute an additional charge to the customer.
User Conduct
By using Motra, you agree to:
- Provide accurate location and contact information at all times
- Treat vendors with respect and dignity
- Not request services for illegal purposes
- Not provide false information to obtain services fraudulently
- Not harass, threaten, or intimidate Motra staff or vendors
- Not attempt to circumvent Motra’s platform after initial connection with a vendor
- Report genuine issues through proper channels rather than public defamation
Violations may result in immediate termination of access and, where applicable, legal action.
Vendor Terms
In addition to the general Terms, service professionals registered as Motra vendors agree to:
- Accuracy: Provide true information about skills, experience, and service areas during registration
- Responsiveness: Respond to job notifications within 5 minutes, even if unavailable
- Professionalism: Conduct all interactions with professional courtesy and technical competence
- Transparent Pricing: Agree on price before starting any work. No surprise charges after completion
- Quality: Perform services to a reasonable professional standard
- Exclusivity for Jobs: Not solicit direct business from customers introduced through Motra, bypassing the platform, for 12 months
- Compliance: Maintain all applicable licences, permits, and insurance required for their service category
Motra reserves the right to remove any vendor for conduct violations, poor ratings, or behaviour inconsistent with Motra’s values.
Car Inspection Certificate Terms
Motra’s car inspection service provides a condition assessment at the time of inspection only.
- The certificate represents the observable condition of the vehicle at the exact time of inspection
- The certificate is not a warranty or guarantee of future vehicle performance
- Motra and its inspectors are not liable for defects not observable at the time of inspection using standard methods
- Document verification relies on government portals (Parivahan, Vahan) — Motra is not responsible for inaccuracies in government databases
- The buyer’s decision to purchase a vehicle remains entirely their own
- Inspection certificates are valid for 7 days from the date of inspection
Important: A Motra inspection certificate does not eliminate all risk from a used vehicle purchase. Major hidden defects or issues arising after inspection are not covered by this service.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Indian law:
- Motra is a technology-enabled marketplace and is not directly liable for the quality or outcome of services performed by independent vendors
- Motra’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in dispute
- Motra is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Motra does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the platform or vendor services
Intellectual Property
All content on motra.in including the Motra brand name, logo, website design, text, and software is the property of Motra and protected under Indian copyright law.
- You may not reproduce or commercially exploit any Motra content without written permission
- The Motra name and logo may not be used in connection with any other product or service
- Reproduction or forgery of Motra inspection certificates is strictly prohibited and may constitute fraud
Termination
Motra reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal behaviour, or if required by law.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
We encourage resolving disputes informally first — contact us via WhatsApp before initiating formal proceedings.
